Nature and Scope of Work
The Senior Community Resource Specialist is responsible for program coordination and planning which includes developing and implementing strategies associated with recruitment of target student/client populations, interviewing, assessment, enrollment, retention, and intervention strategies in support of one or more assigned programs. The Senior Community Resources Specialist will provide training and direction to assigned staff and monitor budget expenditures. Incumbents in this classification work independently in identifying and resolving specific student needs and assisting students in removing educational barriers, which prevent them from continuing in their educational and employment goals.
Distinguishing Characteristics
The Senior Community Resource Specialist is distinguished from the Community Resource Specialist in that the Senior Community Resources Specialist provides training and direction to other program staff and has budget responsibility.
Principal Accountabilities

- 欧洲杯决赛竞猜app_欧洲杯足球网-投注|官网 and implement effective marketing strategies. Design brochures and informational flyers. Attend college and career fairs to market the college in general and targeted program in particular.
- 欧洲杯决赛竞猜app_欧洲杯足球网-投注|官网 curriculum and related materials for target programs.
- Evaluate and screen applicants, assess student needs through interviews or test scores. Advise and assist students in establishing educational and career goals. Assist students in the enrollment process including admissions, registration, financial aid and referral to appropriate college services for specialized assistance or counseling. 欧洲杯决赛竞猜app_欧洲杯足球网-投注|官网 and implement programs or events to assist students in transitioning to an educational environment.
- Act as liaison with local community organizations. Advocate for students in securing identified services.
- Mentor, counsel and advise at risk-targeted populations.
- Coordinate advisory committee meetings for Oregon 欧洲杯决赛竞猜app_欧洲杯足球网-投注|官网 Institute (OLI), College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP), Julian Young Trust Scholarship (JYT), and Juan Young OLI Program Grant.
- Track statistics, gather data and write reports. Monitor and review assigned budget accounts.
- Direct the work of assigned staff. Participate in screening and interview/selection processes, performance evaluations and corrective action. Assist with the training of new staff.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Work Environment
Work is typically performed in an office environment. Occasional travel to local community based organizations requiring the use of a personal vehicle required. Requires the ability to work some evening and weekend hours.
Physical Requirements
Attendance at marketing events requires the ability to lift or pull boxes of material that may weigh up to 25 pounds.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Science, or related field. Experience performing the duties of this job may substitute for the degree requirement on a year for year basis.
Demonstrated experience working with various diverse and at-risk populations. Experience working with students or clients in advising and developing goals. Experience assessing student needs and coordinating educational and community based services. Fluency in a second language may be required.
