Job Summary
Under the direction of Director, the International Student Admissions and Services Manager oversees the day-to-day operations and procedures for services provided to international students on a District-wide basis. Has direct oversight of the advising and activities functions of the Office of International Student Admissions and Services. Responds to inquiries from College departments, the community, and/or external agencies, and supervises academic and administrative services professionals, technical/support staff, and/or student workers.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for budget implementation and expenditure monitoring for assigned international education services.
- Supervises academic professionals, technical/support staff, and student workers. Hires, evaluates, trains, disciplines and recommends the dismissal of staff as necessary.
- Recommends, develops, and administers policies, procedures, manuals, guides, and processes in support of international education program operations; implements and monitors compliance with approved policies, procedures, and processes. Responsible for the security and confidentiality of applicable records.
- Participates in the development of strategic plans and goals for programmatic activities pertaining to the international education programs at the College.
- Performs independent analyses of the advisor and activities programs to determine whether goals are being met; implements corrective action in collaboration with the Director.
- Prepares and delivers presentations regarding international programs and services; facilitates meetings on program services and issues; attends professional conferences and training sessions. Participates on committees at assigned campus and district level and with international associations as required.
- Advises students, faculty, and staff on a variety of issues related to international programs services and activities.
- Oversees the student ambassador program and recruitment of student worker positions placed in various student services departments across the district.
- Manages activities for international students. Maintains compliance and facilitates deliberate engagement between international students and other PCC students and College programs per international education program requirements.
- Functions as liaison to student services departments and other college offices to assure that students receive effective services and procedures and events are professionally implemented.
- Manages the day-to-day compliance of visiting scholars, faculty and their dependents; recommends or assists in the development of policies and procedures governing the J-1 Visiting Scholars and faculty program.
- Implements a full range of services offered to visiting faculty, scholars and their dependents in collaboration with the Director of International Programs.
- Serves on behalf of the International Education Program Director when unavailable. Oversees all operations and directs staff in the absence of the Director.
- Serves and maintains status as a Designated School Official (DSO) for the College.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Work is generally performed in an office environment with frequent interruptions and irregularities in the work schedule. No special coordination beyond that used for normal mobility and handling of everyday objects and materials is needed to perform the job satisfactorily.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in education, administration/management, social science, or related discipline. Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis. Three years progressively responsible experience related to area of assignment, including two years of supervisory experience.
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of:

- Applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, regulations, codes, and/or statutes.
Skills in:
- Implementing and monitoring policies, procedures, and work flow;
- Preparing a variety of reports related to operational activities, including statistical analysis;

- Utilizing computer technology for communication, data gathering and reporting activities.
Ability to:
