Job Summary
Under the direction of the Department Director, manages the day-to-day operations of PCC’s district wide sustainability programs and supports sustainability efforts at all campus locations. 欧洲杯决赛竞猜app_欧洲杯足球网-投注|官网s policies, procedures and processes in support of academic programs and college operational sustainability efforts. Integrates sustainability into all aspects of the college through working closely with students, volunteers, faculty, administrators, classified staff and the community at large.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Aligns College sustainability practices with the goals of the President’s Climate Commitment and the vision of the Climate 欧洲杯决赛竞猜app_欧洲杯足球网-投注|官网 Energy Taskforce (CELT).
- Coordinates the implementation of PCC’s Climate Action Plan, including E6/Net Zero activities.
- Supervises academic professionals, paraprofessionals, technical/support, and/or classified staff. Hires, trains, evaluates, disciplines and recommends dismissal of staff as necessary.
- Collaborates closely with the Energy Resource Manager to develop and implement relevant education and outreach programming, disseminate updated information to the campus community, and maintain positive partnerships with outside organizations and industry in relation to energy management initiatives.
- Serves on and leads advisory groups and councils, including SPARC (Sustainable Practices for Academics and Resources Council), to provide assistance and guidance in sustainability program development in educational settings.
- Collaborates with academic personnel to integrate sustainability into two-year technical degrees, transfer credit programs, general coursework, and community education as well as curriculum that will provide students with solid pathways into green collar careers.

- Facilitates the efforts of Americorps employees in green initiatives. Supports volunteers, co-operative education students, the ASPCC & Sustainability Senators involved in service learning programs.

- Ensures compliance with applicable local, state and national laws, regulations and standards.
- Collects and analyzes complex data and information; prepares STARS and other reports relating to carbon foot print; carbon and greenhouse gas emissions; energy demand, consumption, reduction and avoidance; fuels; facilities; educational efforts; and operations.
- In conjunction with the Department Director develops budget proposals, justifies expenses and monitors expenditures. Contributes to capital planning.
- Works with PCC Grants Office and others to identify potential grant sources and opportunities; initiates and coordinates the development of grant proposals and other funding sources that support the College’s sustainable goals.
- Coordinates professional development related to sustainability for internal and external constituents.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Studies or a related sustainability or environmental degree program. Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience related to sustainability. One year of lead or supervisory experience. Successful completion of PCC LEAD Academy or a comparable external leadership training program may substitute for up to 6 months of lead or supervisory experience.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Work is generally performed in an office environment with frequent interruptions and irregularities in the work schedule. Travel between college locations using college-owned vehicle or personal vehicle may be required. No special coordination beyond that used for normal mobility and handling of everyday objects and materials is needed to perform the job satisfactorily.
