CAS and WT Instructor Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in a business field(Business or Business Education); or
- Master’s Degree in any field and a minimum combination of three years of relevant teaching experience and industry experience; or
- Bachelor’s degree in any field and a minimum combination of four years of relevant teaching experience and industry experience.
Relevant teaching experience examples and clarification
- High School: Business Education, computer technology classes (including computer literacy, web design/development, Office or similar open source applications, Adobe or similar open source applications)
- Community College: Business Technology, Office Administration, Computer Applications, Web design and development
- University: Business Education, Business Administration
Relevant industry experience:
- Computer application training, desktop support, office management, executive office support/administrative assistant
- Web design and development
Related Instruction
CAS 111W, CAS 206, CAS 180, CAS 213, and CAS 280W include embedded Related Instruction in Computation, Communications and Human Relations. In order to teach these courses, instructor must have:
- completed college-level algebra or higher Math (for Computation) and
- completed college-level writing course (for Communication) and
- documented teaching experience covering relevant human relations topics (such as group dynamics, ethics, social interactions, diversity, etc.), and supervisory work experience (for Human Relations)
