Several dignitaries and bright minds in the medical field will come together June 16-18 to examine "Integrative Health Care for the 21st Century" at Portland Community College’s Central Portland Workforce Training Center.

The three-day conference, sponsored by PCC’s Institute for Health Professionals, will feature several national speakers and excellent local speakers on the subject of a health care model that incorporates a more integrative approach to healing.

Lewis Mehl-Madrona, the medical director of the Center for Complementary Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and an authority on Native American medicine and healing practices, will be one of two doctors to lead the keynote address at the conference. The other is Paul Skinner, a professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine.

Skinner is also the author of "Alternative Medicine: Healing the Self Toward a Revolution in Health Care" and "Illumination, Mind, Body and Spirituality."
