Algebra Class Focuses on Math, Science, and Engineering

ST. HELENS, Ore. – A college algebra class for math, science and engineering majors will be offered summer term by Portland Community College.College Algebra for Math, Science and Engineering (MTH 111C) will meet from 6:30 to 8:50 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 26 through Aug. 16, at the St. Helens PCC Classroom, 1510 St. Helens St., Suite C. Tuition for the four-credit class is $174 plus a textbook, available for purchase at class.Instructor Rita Smith will cover systems of equations and logarithmic, exponential, polynomial and rational functions from a math, science and engineering perspective. Technology will be integrated throughout the class. Prerequisites are MTH 95 and placement into WR 115. A TI graphing calculator is required.
