PCC Single Series Features Walking, Stargazing

PORTLAND – Stargazing, walking, and dining in fine restaurants are on tap this summer during Portland Community College’s non-credit Singles in the City series.Co-sponsored with Dinner With Friends, the three-part series begins Sunday, July 1 with Myers Briggs and Speed Dating from 5 to 7 p.m. at Serrato restaurant, 2112 N.W. Kearney St. Participants will take the Myers Briggs Indicator test to learn about their personality types, then discover how their type relates to the opposite sex during seven "mini-dates"in one evening. An optional no-host dinner will be held afterward in the restaurant’s dining room. Tuition is $30.The series continues with Stargazing at OMSI from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday, July 28, at OMSI, 1945 S.E. Water Ave. A lecture on the current astronomical attractions in the summer sky will be followed by a stargazing session hosted by the Rose City Astronomers Club. Tuition is $25.The series concludes with Downtown Walking Tour from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18 in downtown Portland. The tour begins at the Heathman Hotel at Southwest Broadway and Salmon Street.
