The Flow of Qi Runs Through This PCC Class

SHERWOOD, Ore. – Portland Community College has a non-credit class this summer that will help people develop strong bodies and sharp minds thanks to an ancient Chinese practice. The class, QiGong, will run from 10 to11 a.m. every Saturday from June 30 to Sept. 8 in the Sherwood Senior Center, located at 855 N. Sherwood Blvd. Qigong is an ancient method of moving energy within the body to regulate and balance the flow of qi (life force), which develops a healthy body, mental stability, and promotes spiritual growth.Students will learn the gentle movements of the essence Qigong, an easy-to-learn form developed by Chen Fu-Yin. The form combines many styles into one and is a standing meditation in China. Cost is $30. The instructor is Jo Ann Albrecht. For more information, call 503-538-9774.
