PCC Offers Conversational Spanish Classes

Learning Spanish is in high demand these days, particularly for small business owners, teachers, and employers who seek to meet the needs of the growing Hispanic population in Yamhill County. In response, Portland Community College offers non-credit Spanish classes that offer step-by-step instruction to quickly learn the basics of the language, and progress to full proficiency. Classes are offered in Newberg as follows:Spanish Conversation Level I, 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 9 through March 20, PCC Newberg Center, 301 N. Elliott Road. Cost is $70.Spanish Conversation Level II, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays, Jan. 7 through March 18, Newberg High School, 1300 Elliott Road. Cost is $66. A class is offered in Sherwood as follows:Conversation Level I, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Jan. 8 through March 19, Sherwood Senior Center, 855 N. Sherwood Blvd. Cost is $69.Classes are offered in Tualatin as follows:Beginning Spanish Conversation, 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 9 through March 20, Tualatin Senior Center, 8513 S.W. Tualatin Road. Cost is $66.Spanish Conversation Level II, 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays, Jan. 8 through March 19, Tualatin High School 22300 S.W. Boones Ferry Road. Cost is $66. A class is offered in Tigard as follows:Keeping Up With Spanish for continuing students, 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 9 through March 20, Howard Johnson Hotel, 11460 S.W. Pacific Highway.
