Team Oregon Names PCC ‘Outstanding Sponsor’

PORTLAND, Ore. – Team Oregon Motorcycle Safety Program honored Portland Community College with the “Outstanding Sponsor Award.”Team Oregon presented the award in November at its annual awards banquet in Salem. In making the announcement, director Steve Garets recognized PCC’s contribution to safer motorcycling. PCC has sponsored Team Oregon training for the last 13 years, making it the largest motorcycle-training center in the state. The organization selected PCC from among 23 training sponsors across Oregon.Team Oregon, sponsored by the Traffic Safety Division of the Oregon Department of Transportation, rider-training programs are available on a regular basis and are open to the public. The PCC Community Education department offers the 16-hour course, which consists of seven hours of classroom instruction and nine hours on-cycle training. The classes are held at the Sylvania Campus (12000 S.W. 49th Ave.) and PCC’s Washington County Workforce Training Center at Capital Center (185th and Walker Road).For more information about these classes, contact Community Education at 503-533-2707.
