Two Items: PCC Keyboarding Class to Improve Touch Skills

ST. HELENS, Ore. – Portland Community College is offering a keyboard class to help computer users increase their speed and accuracy. The three-credit class, Beginning Keyboarding, is scheduled for 6:30 to 8:50 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from Jan. 8 to March 21 at the St. Helens High School library, 2375 Gable Road.Instructor Donna Trudeau will cover key alphabetic and numeric portion of keyboard by touch and will help students produce simple letters and manuscripts while increasing speed and accuracy. English skills required. Cost is $138.50 with $12.50 payable to St. Helens High School at first class.####Beginning Word Gives Users Skills like the ProsDo you have a desire to produce letters, memos, tables, and reports in a professional and dynamic way? Then turn to Portland Community College and its three-credit class, Beginning Word. The course will be offered from 6:30 to 8:50 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Jan. 8 to March 21 at the St. Helens High School library, 2375 Gable Road.Students will learn how to use headers, footers and mail merge, spell check and other writing tools as well as templates. The class is recommended for students who type 25 words per minute. English communication skills are required. Lab hours may be required.
