PCC Class Hones Word Processing Skills

ST. HELENS, Ore. – The first step to a professional career might just be mastering the basic word processing program used by thousands of employers nationwide. Portland Community College is offering a Beginning Word for Windows in St. Helens this April. This class will meet from 6:30 to 8:50 p.m., each Tuesday and Thursday from April 2 through June 13, in Room B43, St. Helens High School, 2375 Gable Road. Cost is $123, with a $12.50 fee payable at the first class to the high school.Students will learn to produce letters, memos, tables and reports using headers, footers and mail merge. This 11-week course is worth three credits toward the associate of applied science degree and offers a Computer Applications/Software Systems Certificate upon completion.
