PCC joins Congressman David Wu to announce higher education plan

PORTLAND, Ore. – On Friday, Feb. 25 Congressman David Wu will announce several pieces of higher education legislation he plans to introduce when he returns to Washington, D.C. next week. Wu’s legislation aims to make student financial aid more flexible for students and to ease the financial burden of student loans.Wu’s legislation dovetails with the reauthorization of the Higher Education Act of 1965, the federal law that aims to strengthen the educational resources of our colleges and universities and provides financial assistance to students in postsecondary and higher education. Congress will be reauthorizing the Higher Education Act this Congressional session.Wu will be joined by PCC District President Preston Pulliams and 19-year-old PCC Sylvania Campus student Eric Franz, who is a student leader at PCC, as well as other college and university officials and representatives from education advocacy groups.
