Willamette Building construction making mark on downtown

Photos and story by

Meet PCC’s first downtown presence since the Stadium Center closed decades ago – the Willamette Building. The college is investing $6.7 million on a seismic overhaul and down-to-the-studs renovation of the structure on Second and Yamhill that should be completed by year’s end.

The building will house administrative offices and will free up space at various campuses and centers. Fortis Construction is the general contractor and the redesign is being handled by Sera Architects. PCC paid $5 million for the historic building located at 722 S.W. Second Ave. from the Oregon University System.
