New Rock Creek art exhibit is ‘adrift’

This month at the Rock Creek Campus Helzer Art Gallery (Helzer Art Gallery, Room 122, Building 3) is painter Chris Knight’s show “Set Adrift by Minor Catastrophes.” The exhibition will be on display until Feb. 6. There will be an artist talk Friday, Feb. 5 at 12:30 p.m. in The Forum of Building 3.? A reception will follow immediately.

Knight, who teaches painting and drawing at Rock Creek, has a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Vassar College in New York and received his master’s degree in fine arts in painting from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is the recipient of a WK Rose Fellowship in the Creative Arts as well as a Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant.

The gallery’s hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. For further information, call (503) 614-7118.
