PCC board member Harold Williams honored

Longtime Portland Community College board member Harold Williams has been selected as the Pacific Region Trustee Å·ÖÞ±¾öÈü¾º²Âapp_Å·ÖÞ±×ãÇòÍø-Ͷע|¹ÙÍø Award Recipient for 2010.
The award recognizes the contribution made by trustees, chief executives and faculty members to community colleges. The Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) annually recognizes one trustee, chief executive, faculty member or professional board staff from each of its five regions.
Appointed in 1990, Williams represents Zone 2 in North Portland and Columbia County. Williams is president of CH2A Associates, a contracting firm. He has been a labor relations manager and equal employment opportunity coordinator for the State of Oregon and served as affirmative action director for former Gov. Bob Straub. He is a member of the Black Å·ÖÞ±¾öÈü¾º²Âapp_Å·ÖÞ±×ãÇòÍø-Ͷע|¹ÙÍø Conference, the Urban League, is past chair of the Coalition of Black Men, and served on the board of the Oregon Community College Association. He has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Portland State University and lives in northeast Portland.
