Rock Creek hosts neighborhood meeting on bond improvements
Photos and story by James Hill
On Tuesday, Nov. 29, the Rock Creek Campus is hosting a Neighborhood Review Meeting from 6-8 p.m. in the Event Center, Building 9 to provide an opportunity for campus and community members to discuss the preliminary development plans for Rock Creek. Free parking will be available after 5:30 p.m. in the Event Center parking lot, on the west side of Building 9.
Thanks to the bond approved by district voters in 2008, the college is expanding educational opportunities and adding new classroom space at its Rock Creek Campus. This December, the PCC Bond Team will submit a land use application to Washington County to construct a 30,000 square foot addition to Building 7 and upgrade the campus quad area, located on the east side of Building 7.
At the meeting, surrounding property owners and residents will be able to review the land use proposal, ask questions and identify issues that PCC can consider before submitting its formal application to the county.? In addition to a question and answer session, participants will also be able to visit three information stations focusing on 1) parking and transportation management, 2) campus access from NW Springville Road, and 3) natural resources and land use.
For more on PCC’s future construction plans, visit the college’s Bond Website.
