Here is a look at some of the news stories about PCC from around the local area and the nation in October. In total, PCC events and people appeared 40 times in the local community or national online media, newspapers or TV/radio.

Oct. 4: Cogeneration and On-Site Power Production Magazine, Hillsboro Argus, Lake Oswego Review and Oregon Business Magazine: The twin fuel cells at the Sylvania Campus will provide power to the campus’ Health Technology Building and heat to that building’s swimming pool.

Oct. 6: The Portland Tribune: Front-page news story focused on the CLIMB Center and how it runs like a business to help small businesses.

Oct. 11: The Portland Tribune, Portland Observer: The paper featured the Margaret Carter building dedication at the Cascade Campus.

Oct. 15: Oregon Live: A student uses her PCC education to blossom into acclaimed artist.

Oct. 12: Daily Journal of Commerce: A front page article shows how PCC’s welding program is training students for jobs.

Oct. 19: Daily Journal of Commerce: The Newberg Center is on track to receive a 欧洲杯决赛竞猜app_欧洲杯足球网-投注|官网 in Energy and Environmental Design platinum rating as well as a net zero rating from the Energy Trust of Oregon.

Oct. 21: The Oregonian, The Skanner and Portland Observer: Fans of former state Sen. Margaret Carter gathered in North Portland to celebrate her legacy and to honor Portland Community College as it celebrates its 50th anniversary.

Oct. 27: Daily Journal of Commerce: Sara Walker is a graduate of the Building Construction Technology program at PCC and joined Chick Of All Trades four months ago as an energy auditor.
