PCC staff awarded spots on board for state chapter of AAWCC

The fall 2011 conference hosted by the Oregon Chapter of the American Association for Women in Community Collegesushered in several new board officials, many of whom are from Portland Community College. All were announced at the annual conference, which took place Nov. 17 and 18 at the Tigard Embassy Suites Hotel:
- Melissa Aaberg, Web 欧洲杯决赛竞猜app_欧洲杯足球网-投注|官网ment technician, Portland Community College – Named Web developer
- Michele Cruse, Student Account manager, Portland Community College – Named Member at Large-Conference Registration
- Julie Kopet, interim Dean of Instruction and Student Services, Portland Community College, Southeast Center – Named President-Elect.
The new officers join current board members Cherie Maas-Anderson, from Portland Community College, and Jan Woodcock, co-presidents; Karin Magnuson, past-president; Cherie Maas-Anderson, vice president-Finance; Lynn Melow, vice president-Summer Conference; and Barb Horn, vice president-Fall Conference.
Outgoing officers from Portland Community College include Kate Chester, who served as Vice President-Communication; Karen Sorensen, who served as Web developer; and Becky Washington, who served as Member at Large-Special Projects.
In addition, the AAWCC board of directors celebrated individuals, chosen by local AAWCC membership, whose accomplishments made a difference for women at their respective community colleges. Linda Reisser, dean of Student 欧洲杯决赛竞猜app_欧洲杯足球网-投注|官网ment at PCC’s Cascade Campus, was chosen as one of the 2011 AAWCC Excellence Award winners.
Affiliated with the national AAWCC, the Oregon chapter of AAWCC was developed by local women in community colleges whose mission was to inspire, champion and celebrate the talents of its members.
