Veterinary Technology Program has animals for adoption

Photos and story by

For animal loving families who might be looking or an animal companion, the following cats and dogs are currently up for adoption through the Veterinary Technology Program at the Rock Creek Campus.

If you are looking to adopt a dog or a cat, the program would be happy to introduce you to the animals listed below. These animals are acquired from shelters and during the year they spend on campus they go through training, go to class with the students, participate in extracurricular activities and more. The goal is to find perfect homes where they will never have to return to a shelter.

Below are excerpts from Dolores Galindo, instructional support technician for Veterinary Technology, about these pets. If interested, contact Galindo at: dgalindo@pcc.edu

Clover:

“A 60 pound very fit lab/pointer cross is an athletic lady! She is currently looking for a home where she can jog, camp, hike, retrieve or tag along with a person who is outdoors a lot.? She is extremely sweet, sometimes doesn’t understand other dogs, is way too interested in cats and a person can do just about anything with her.? Because of her high interest in cats she is best suited for a no-cat household.? She is about two years old, is spayed and is very healthy!”

Ernie:

“In all of his 12 pounds he is very manly even though he is neutered! He has the deepest little bark I have ever heard from a small dog and is therefore a great little watch dog.? He is most likely chihuahua, dachsund cross, loves to run and play and is very smart. Ernie needs time to learn to trust a new person. He becomes very attached to a person and then becomes protective. He has snapped at a select few during the time we have had him and while he has gotten much better and more trusting, the best home for him would be a home without small children, a home that has structure and with a fenced yard and a home where he is an important member of a family.”

Gretel:

“Is a beautiful proud female tabby cat.? She has short hair, is spayed, is an easy keeper, strong, proud, and just plain all cat! She is a few years old.”

Amelia:

“Is a beautiful medium hair black with white kitty. She is also just a few years old.? Amelia is very loving but she hates going to the Vet! She loves to be brushed, has very beautiful almond color eyes, is very observant and has been a mama in her past life. She is now spayed and very healthy.”

Dahlia:

“Is a very sweet docile cat. She is Amelia’s child and is also black and white (mostly black).? She is about a year or so old, has short hair, is spayed and is moderately shy.? She comes out of her shell quickly and loves to lay on laps.”

All of these animals are incredible. Clover with her intelligence and energy. Ernie with his unwavering love and hilarity. Gretel with her in-your-face personality. Amelia and her loyalty. Dahlia and her shyness. We have loved these dogs and cats since they first came into our program, and we want to find families that will love them just as fiercely. Please contact the Vet Tech program if you are interested in any of these amazing pets.
