PCC Job Fair is popular as ever with waiting lists, lines and plenty of jobs

Photos and story by

gOn a sunny day on April 24, there was only one thing more impressive than the 30 or so companies on the waiting list to secure space at the PCC Job Fair – the line of job-seekers waiting to get in that stretched down and around the gymnasium at the Portland Community College Cascade Campus.

More than 1,000 job-seekers, 90 employers and many PCC career-technical programs were on hand for one of the city’s biggest employment events.

gIn addition to Nike, a who’s who of Portland-area employers will be represented at this year’s job fair, such as New Seasons Market, Columbia Sportswear, Portland General Electric, and Comcast, to name just a few.

gStudents in nearly all of PCC’s 80 professional and technical programs can find an employer at the PCC Job Fair, which is related to their degree or certificate.

Employers that have attended the fair have called it the best job fair in Portland. The job fair makes it easy to meet more than 1,000 trained, diverse candidates in just four hours.

jThe PCC Job Fair is now in its third decade serving the local Portland community.
