Public Relations media and website report for April 2013

In the month of April, PCC’s biggest news story was that the college Board of Directors selected its new president – Jeremy Brown. Interest in Brown amounted to eleven stories locally, including a great Q&A by reporter Matt Kish in the print version of the Portland Business Journal. In addition, The Oregonian published a photo of Brown with retiring College President Preston Pulliams while strolling the grounds at the Sylvania Campus, symbolizing the passing of the torch between the two.

For media stories it was one of PCC’s busiest months with 54 total stories appearing online, TV/radio or in print. Highlighting the month was an Oregon Live story on the Cascade Job Fair, a Catholic Sentinel brief about Marylhurst University adding an accelerated degree program at Cascade Campus, and news about the Beaverton City Council considering to fund more Future Connect Scholarship Program scholarships. Ever wonder how other community college students see PCC? Well the Clackamas Print had a humorous take on our food service options, which apparently are too many to comprehend.
