High school students get up close, personal with heavy machinery at Diesel Day

With some of the largest heavy equipment companies in Oregon on board, hundreds of high school students from throughout the region participated in Diesel Day at the Rock Creek Campus on Friday, May 3. The 12th Annual Diesel Day, hosted by the Diesel Service Technology Program, introduced these students to electronic engine programming, hydraulic circuits, fuel injector testing and electrical component troubleshooting.? In addition, there valve cover racing competitions where the small cars were made from a valve cover from an internal combustion car engine. Students got to talk with local diesel employers about their respective industries and current employment opportunities. Employers included Ag West, TEC Equipment, Northside Ford, Metro New Holland, Cummis NW, US Army National Guard, Forklift Service of Oregon, DSU Peterbilt, Peterson Caterpillar and Anderson Brothers Inc.

This may not the the proper forum, but I was wondering if PCC has a student work program? I represent two automotive repair facilities and both could possible offer part time positions for someone looking to enter the automotive repair and service industry.
