Learn to Winterize Your Garden

TIGARD – Garden care doesn’t stop when the temperature drops. Tried and true ways for ensuring a healthy lawn and garden next spring will be covered during a three-week, non-credit class being offered this fall by Portland Community College.Winterizing Your Garden will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursdays, Oct. 5-19, in room E73 at Tigard High School, 9000 S.W. Durham Road. The cost is $22.Participants will learn secrets used by master gardeners to reduce disease in lawns and gardens and get a jump start on next spring’s blooms. Choosing and planting bulbs, pruning, mulching, and "wintering" plants will also be discussed. For more information, contact PCC Community Education at 503-731-6650.
