Travel to Tibet with PCC

LAKE OSWEGO – A free informational session on Portland Community College’s summer educational tour to Tibet will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 27 at the Lake Oswego Public Library, 706 Fourth St.The Tibet tour has been scheduled for June 27 through July 6, 2001. The all-inclusive cost of $2,655 includes air fair from Los Angeles. The tour will highlight the religion and spirituality of this history-rich country, only recently accessible to Westerners.Interested travelers will be provided with the trip itinerary during the informational session. The first stop will be in Beijing for a full-day tour of the Great Wall and Ming Tombs. Participants will then travel on to Lhasa, which stands for "country of the gods." Other stops include the Jokang Temple, a visit to the Barkhor Bazaar, and various monasteries.For more information, contact PCC Community Education at 503-731-6622.
