PCC to Explore Myth, Hero and Mankind

SYLVANIA CAMPUS – Portland Community College is offering a non-credit class that will use the teaching of Joseph Campbell and Carl Jung in one informative experience. In the class Myth and Hero, the instructor will analyze the evolving idea of what constitutes a hero. The class will be 7 to 9 p.m. every Wednesday from Jan. 17 and March 14 in room 317 of the HT Building on the Sylvania Campus, located at 12000 S.W. 49th Avenue. The cost is $54.The course will take a look at women and men who have helped mankind evolve through the wielding of swords, paintbrushes, maps, telescopes and quill pens. Student’s insight and experiences will be combined with background of mythology, history, storytelling, dramatic readings and modern psychology. For more information, call 503-731-6618.
