Nurture Those Blue Grass Skills in PCC Workshop

SYLVANIA CAMPUS – Dust off that guitar and get out that banjo because Portland Community College has a class for those string instrument lovers. PCC is offering a non-credit class Beginning Blue Grass Banjo, which is a hands-on experience in the three-finger style, or blue grass, of playing string banjo. It will be offered from 6:30 to 8 p.m. every Wednesday between Jan. 10 and March 14 in the Pine Room in the CC Building of the Sylvania Campus, located at 12000 S.W. 49th Avenue. The cost is $60.Once you have the basics down, sign up for the Old Time String Band Workshop. The workshop will meet from 8 to 9:30 p.m. every Wednesday between Jan. 10 and March 14 in room 220 of the CT Building on the Sylvania Campus. Students get a chance to play the banjo, flatpick guitar, dulcimer, fiddle and mandolin. The workshop is flexible depending on the makeup of the group. The cost is also $60.
