CORNELIUS – For many immigrants, passing the US Citizenship test is the threshold rite of freedom. Citizenship, a free eight-week course on Tuesday evenings starting June 24 at Centro Cultural, can prepare them for that test.
Instructor Seferina Delon-Dale leads the course, which requires that students have a green card, be able to read and write English at level 1 (4-5 grade) and be a US resident for a minimum of four years.
The class meets from 7 to 9:30 p.m. on Tuesdays through Aug. 12 at Centro Cultural, 1110 North Adair in Cornelius. For more information, call Portland Community College at 614-2919.
