Online Class set for Aspiring Travel Writers

The basics of travel writing will be presented in a class being offered this summer by Portland Community College’s Community Education Online Learning program. Topics in this non-credit online class include popular styles and types of travel writing that are the "friendliest"to new writers; writing query letters; producing articles, essays and books; trends in articles and books; grammar and writing skills refreshers; and marketing.Three sessions of the class will be offered this summer. Classes begin monthly, and offer six weeks of web-based instruction via personal computer and over the Internet. The class will be taught online by Dr. Eva Shaw. Start dates are Wednesdays, June 13, July 11, and Aug. 8. Two lessons are released each week. Students do not have to be present when lessons are released. Tuition for each class is $69.
