College leadership to host community forums on future of PCC, equitable student success and bond
Photos and story by James Hill
Are you interested in learning about the direction and future of Portland Community College? If so, then college leadership wants to meet with you.
In late October, college leadership – Sylvia Kelley, executive vice president, and Linda Degman, bond program director – will host community forums at each of PCC’s comprehensive campuses. The focus of the discussions will be on the college’s goal to foster greater accessibility and equitable student success through long-term visioning for PCC’s facilities and the 2017 bond measure. The events are free and open to the public.
Each forum will include a short presentation, followed by a question-and-answer session. Coffee and light snacks will be provided. The face-to-face conversations with Kelley and Degman offer an opportunity to come together as a community and discuss the future development of the college and its facilities based on needs and trends.
All of the community forums are set to begin at 5:30 p.m. and will last approximately one hour. Following is the schedule of forums:
- Monday, Oct. 23, in the Oak Room, College Center, Sylvania Campus (12000 SW 49th Ave.).
- Tuesday, Oct. 24, Room 213, Building 5, Rock Creek Campus, 17705 SW Springville Road.
- Wednesday, Oct. 25, Rooms 203-204, Student Union, Cascade Campus, 705 N. Killingsworth St.
- Thursday, Oct. 26, Community Hall, Southeast Campus, 2305 SE 82nd and Division.
