Teaching pairs

Partner up with a colleague to improve your online or hybrid course through a peer observation process, reflection and collegial sharing. Online Learning will set up a framework for this professional development activity focused on faculty sharing in the form of Teaching Pairs. Come away with a new faculty colleague and new strategies to consider implementing in your course. Workshop cohorts are limited to 10 participants.

The focus will be on What Works Well in Online Teaching for fully online courses and our Multimodality Checklist for multimodality courses. Courses must be a fully online or a combined modality course with a significant asynchronous online component using D2L Brightspace. (Courses used for the multimodality focus must be scheduled as a combined modality course with a significant asynchronous online component. Course content, online activities and assessments should be in weekly modules in D2L.)

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify new strategies to consider implementing in your online or multi-modality course through a peer faculty sharing experience.
  • Apply strategies found in What Works Well in Online Teaching or the Multi-Modality Checklist to your course.

You do not need to sign up with a partner. Cross-discipline collaboration is encouraged, and we can pair you up with another instructor. The time commitment is 10 hours with a completion stipend of $250 (both PT & FT faculty). Please see all the details in the sign-up form, including required Zoom meeting dates, time commitment, process, and stipend information. Repeat participation is possible, but those new to Teaching Pairs have priority.

Here are the registration forms, one for each session. Please choose your preference and register for only one of the sessions.
