Employment assistance
Upon completion of the Diesel Service Technology program, we are confident you can?do?the job. However, we also want to be sure you can?get?the job. Throughout the program, job search skills will be addressed in?class, including resume writing, job interviews, and job applications. If you need assistance with these or other job search activities before they come up in class, staff in the?Jobs & Internships office?will be happy to assist you. We frequently host employers who want to do campus interviews. Typically a single employer can interview as many as 12 students in a day.
Resume writing and mock interviews
Students will learn to assess and articulate their skills,?abilities, and goals, and to answer common and difficult interview questions. Then, each?student participates in a mock interview with an industry representative. This gives?students direct feedback from the kind of people who interview?and hire Diesel Service Technicians.?The program has many employers who assist us in this process, and we are always seeking additional suggestions from students. Occasionally, the mock interview experience results?in a job for students!
