Since 1976, the MSD Program faculty have been bringing a broad range of experience and a wealth of knowledge to the classroom. Many have had the benefit of extensive careers in management and supervision, or as working consultants and trainers in corporate and government entities. In PCC’s MSD Program, you’ll learn to lead from the best and brightest in the field.

Joseph Hernandez

Joseph Hernandez earned his master’s degree in business administration from Marylhurst University. He also has a post master’s certificate in college teaching and a post-baccalaureate certificate in leadership. Joseph currently teaches business for Portland Community College and also currently serves as a career coach for Clackamas Community College.

Gail Martin

Gail has been an educator for more than 25 years and has taught at PCC since 2005. For five years she worked for Columbia Regional Programs, helping to remove barriers to the PPS Talented and Gifted Program, for the deaf, blind, and orthopedically impaired. Her Bachelor of Science degree is from the University of Wisconsin, and she earned a Masters Degree in Education at Lewis and Clark College.

Life experiences on both sides of the equation have prepared Gail for teaching in Management and Supervisory 欧洲杯决赛竞猜app_欧洲杯足球网-投注|官网ment. She owned and operated The Martin Gallery and Rutherford Art Academy, has been Chairman of Portland’s arts festival, Art Quake, President of the Women’s Architectural League, Program Chair for the Board of Young Audiences, and belonged to the Oregon Symphony Auxiliary.

Helping her to empathize with those being managed, Gail has worked as a babysitter, carhop, waitress, at a canning factory, as a desk clerk, and at libraries at the U. of Wisconsin and in Springfield, Oregon. She’s had bosses both terrible and wonderful, giving her invaluable experience and an understanding of what it feels like to be encouraged and made to feel “visible” in one’s efforts on the job. “I’ve come to know that a good manager or supervisor can make or break a business or organization. Teaching the skills to raise awareness and accomplish this worthy goal, is very rewarding to me.”

Linda Paulson

Over the past 25 years, as the owner of RelationshipSync, LLC, Linda Paulson has conducted numerous training seminars, in customer service, interpersonal, and workforce communications. She has created training programs in continuous process improvement, customer-centered leadership, team building, and employee relations for a wide sector of organizations in Oregon. Linda has written a book entitled: “The Wings of Harmony: Soaring Toward More Meaningful & Satisfying Relationships With Others,” focusing on four “tried and true” principles of communication. She holds an M.Ed. in organizational development and training with a minor in human development from Oregon State University and a B.S. in nutrition and behavioral sciences from the University of Washington. Linda was voted Outstanding Faculty Member of the Year in 2003 for IMPD.

Rebecca Robinson

Rebecca has taught courses at PCC since 1999. She was co-owner of Training & 欧洲杯决赛竞猜app_欧洲杯足球网-投注|官网ment Programs, a consulting company for 6 years. Before joining TDP, Robinson spent 21 years in private industry as a manager, where her responsibilities included developing and facilitating training programs. She holds an MSM – Master of Science degree in Management with an emphasis on organizational development from Marylhurst University, and a BS in Plant and Soil Science from the University of Massachusetts.

Iris Savich

Iris A. Savich, M.A. has worked part-time with the Management and Supervisory 欧洲杯决赛竞猜app_欧洲杯足球网-投注|官网ment program since 1989 teaching a variety of classes in the areas of gender conflict resolution, assertive communication, time management, self-esteem, and team building. In 1996 and 2000, she received the Instructor and Faculty of the Year Awards. As part of her consulting firm, TAP Unlimited Corporation, she has worked with over 200 organizations and served on a national board for Dietary Managers from 2009-2012.

Mary Schutten, MA

Ms. Schutten currently works as VP for Business 欧洲杯决赛竞猜app_欧洲杯足球网-投注|官网ment for Liker 欧洲杯决赛竞猜app_欧洲杯足球网-投注|官网 Institute. She has over twenty-five years of experience in education, project management, facilitation, team problem-solving training, team building, and management development. She has consulted extensively in the areas of continuous improvement (aka Lean) and management development. For over twelve years she was a senior trainer and manager at the Boeing Company for the 737 and 757 manufacturing lines. Ms. Schutten has trained and consulted with private, non-profit, and public sectors and has included organizations such as LSI Logic, Intel, ConMetCo, Alcatel, Wacher, Matell, Race for the Cure and the State Public Health Division (partial list).

Interesting facts: Ms. Schutten loves all sports and competes competitively in triathlons and endurance swimming. Ms. Schutten also owns two patents for IdentiMed, L.L.C.

Mark Van Heuvel

Mark J. Van Heuvel is an adjunct faculty member instructing various courses in Project Management, Principles of Management, Stress Management, and other courses. Mark holds an MBA and is Managing Director of Laren Group LLC, a west coast commercial real estate firm.? Mark has authored numerous publications including Your Winning Project, Before You Buy a Business, and many others.
