To join this program, you must apply for admission. This moderately competitive program accepts up to 18 students each fall. The selection process is based on clinical site availability. Applicants who have a clinical site willing to provide training will be given preferred entry.

How to apply

  1. Apply to PCC

    Applying to PCC is free and only takes a few minutes. Complete this step as soon as possible so you can start using PCC resources. As a minimum application requirement, all MRI applicants must be admitted to PCC as a credit seeking student.

  3. Check basic qualifications

    Applicants must be in good standing and have one of these professional credentials before applying:

    • Registered Radiologic Technologist ARRT(R)
    • Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist ARRT(N) or (CNMT)
    • Registered Radiation Therapy Technologist ARRT(T)
    • Registered Medical Sonographer (ARDMS)

    Students enrolled in a Radiography program may apply, but must be registered with the ARRT before beginning the PCC MRI program. Applicants cannot have certain medical implant devices.

  4. Write supplemental essay

    Write a one-page essay describing your work experience that brought you to MRI, your career goals, and what you consider your greatest strengths.

  5. References

    Gather contact information for three references (past instructors, supervisors, or managers).

  6. Submit application

    The PCC MRI Program will not be accepting new applications for the 2025 cycle.

After you apply

All admission and program communication is done through your PCC email account.

After being accepted, students will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check, drug screen, and provide proof of required immunizations. Please review the following requirements for clinical and field education.
