Special programs
Political science focuses on politics and political systems and the behavior of people within political systems. At PCC, our primary emphasis is on American government including:
- Congress
- Constitution
- Domestic policy
- Elections
- Foreign policy
- Interest groups
- Political parties
- Presidency
- Supreme Court
In addition, PCC offers courses in peace studies, comparative politics, international relations, American foreign policy, political ideologies, and global concerns including ecological issues.
What will you do?
Political Science is an excellent foundation for a liberal arts, college transfer degree. Political Science majors often continue in careers that include becoming lawyers, political consultants, teachers, political office holders, and others engaged in the political realm. Those who undertake the study of politics are encouraged to actively engage in impacting policy-making, as well as informed voters, lobbyists, advocates associated with social change movements, and others concerned about justice issues.
