FP101 Prin of Emerg Services
Provides an overview to fire protection, emergency services, and career opportunities in fire protection and related fields. Includes culture and history of emergency services, fire loss analysis, organization and function of public and private fire protection services, and fire departments as part of local government. Covers laws and regulations affecting the fire service, fire service nomenclature, basic fire chemistry and physics, life safety initiatives, and specific fire protection functions. Introduce fire protection system and fire strategy and tactics. Prerequisites: (WR 90 or IRW 90) and MTH 20. (See course content and outcomes.)
