Introduces the field of clinical laboratory sciences, including an introduction to phlebotomy skills, laboratory organization, laboratory safety, quality assurance and laboratory regulation. Reviews utilization of basic laboratory equipment, point of care testing, and laboratory information systems. Covers professionalism in a healthcare setting. Includes documentation and communication according to laboratory protocols. Audit available. (See course content and outcomes.)
