Educate yourself about health literacy and empower yourself to actively engage in your healthcare processes. By the end of the course, you will possess the skills and knowledge to enhance your health literacy and address your healthcare needs effectively.
The 8 week class aims to equip you with the skills and knowledge to take charge of your health and navigate the healthcare system effectively. The class covers topics related to health literacy including: what is health literacy and why is it important? US health literacy data and its implications; communicating with healthcare teams; Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) and their impact on health; and best practices in healthcare communication. The class emphasizes patient advocacy and taking charge of your healthcare journey, which can lead to better health outcomes, improved patient satisfaction, and reduced healthcare costs. The use of interactive discussions and hands-on activities will make the class engaging and interactive. The class has the potential to make a significant impact on your understanding of health literacy and your ability to navigate the healthcare system effectively.
