Hello students!

We took the CASAS test today.? This is a test that all ESOL students must take.? The state of Oregon will give PCC money because we are helping students learn English.? It is a difficult test!? You will take the CASAS test again in Week 9.
After the CASAS test, you practiced with videos and exercises on the computer.? If you want to continue practicing at home, here is a link to the class website:

Complete Exercise C on page 9.? Write the questions and answers.

  • Text or email Davida a photo of a famous person you like (from your country or a different country).? The person must be alive now.? Don’t choose a dead person from history.
  • Write three sentences?about the famous person with the BE verb in the simple present.
  • Write three questions about the famous person with the BE verb in the simple present.
  • Check your work with eagle eyes for spelling, grammar, punctuation, capitalization, and meaning.
  • Email or text your sentences and questions to Davida.
  • Look at Exercises C and D on page 9 for examples to help you.? You will stand in front of the class and talk about your famous person.

3.? Welcome Unit Packet

Finish all of the pages in the Welcome Unit packet at home.? Use the audio link.? Select “Workbook.”? You will show Davida your work in class.? We will correct the packets together, and you will take your packet home to study for the test. ? You will put your completed packets in the blue box on Monday, October 7.? The Welcome Unit test will be on Monday, October 7.
