Start Making Art! supply list and info for students
Need inspiration to begin making things? Looking for less screen time and more hands-on creating? Through demos and studio time, we’ll explore a range of materials AND the obstacles that get in our way.
I will bring supplies needed for our first class session, where we’ll warm up our imaginations and get the creative juices flowing with some fun and simple activities. I’ll also want to hear what art media you’re most interested in pursuing — watercolors? collage? realistic drawing? doodling? found object sculptures? This class can be customized (within reason ?) according to the interests of the group and/or individuals within the class. The point is to get us all making stuff–but not necessarily the same stuff!
Materials list:
Your supply list might evolve over the six weeks of our class, due to the nature of the class. However, it will be useful for you to bring:
?? a notebook or sketchbook
?? a variety of pencils and pens
You might also consider bringing:
?? an art project that you’re stuck on/want to move forward
?? art supplies you own that you’d like to explore (perhaps they’re still in unopened packages ???♀?)
If this sounds confusingly vague, don’t worry. I’ll have an activity planned for each class session for those who’d like to follow along. But I want to encourage you to pursue that thing you’ve been wanting to try, that you may have purchased materials for but not yet started on. I think you know what I’m talking about!
