Math 20 Schedule
HW #1 Due on October 4, 2021
- 2.2: 1, 11 – 50, 53 – 76? (Pages 111 – 113)
- Memorize time tables, by writing out many times, using flash cards, etc.
- Write out all time tables from 1 x 1 up through 12 x 12. many times,?but write one set of all 144 on your homework.
- Read 1.1, 1.2
HW #2 Due on October 11, 2021
- Write factor trees of all numbers 2 through 100 and you can work across the page to save some space.? Do not do more than five factor trees per line.
- Memorize time tables, by writing out many times, using flash cards, etc.? You do not need to put these on HW # 2, but learn them !!!
- Write the factors and product for the first 15 perfect squares, that is
- 1 x 1 = 1
- 2 x 2 = 4
- ….
- 15 x 15 = 225
- Read 1.1 very carefully.
- Write the place value chart on your HW #2 and in your notebook.
- Do problems from 1.1 on page 6, 1 – 24.
HW #3 Due on October 18, 2021
- 1.1:? ? ? 1 – 93 odd (Pages 6 – 8)
- 1.2:? ? ? 1,? ? ? ?3 – 96, by 3,? ? ?[3, 6, 9, 12, …]? ?(Pages 16 – 20)
- Work on time tables.

- Sections 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.5, Part of 1.6, 2.2
- Know how to do factor trees, and know your time tables and know them well and quickly.
- Know all of the vocabulary items from each of the sections.? These are covered in Problem 1 of each section.
- Know all of the perfect squares up to 225, which is 15 x 15.

- 2.1:? 1 – 75 odd.? [Make sure you make neat diagrams]
- 2.3:? 1 – 75 odd.? I do have some different instructions.? Please read below.
For problems 17 – 23, reduce each fraction to see if they are equal.? Please do not cross multiply.
For problems 61 – 67, first cancel as many zeros that match up in numerator and denominator.? For example if a numerator is 2400 and a denominator has 36000, then you can cancel two zeros in numerator and denominator.? You would be left with 24 over 360.? You then follow the steps from class and factor each number, cancel, etc.
Please remember to put in a one fir all factors cancel in either the numerator or denominator.? If a fraction has one in the denominator at the end, divide numerator by one which will just be the numerator.
I will try and get some examples for the above sections on words.
HW #9? Due on November 29, 2021
- Page 199 and 200, 1 – 10.? Please do two problems for each number.? You DO NOT need to do all four, only pick two.
- Page 197: 77, 78, 83, 84.
- Page 130. 71 and 63.? Follow steps on example 6 and 7 shown on pages 126 and 127.
- Please look at chapter four on decimals.
HW #10? Due on December 9, 2021
- Problems on adding and subtracting decimals: Page 235 in 4.2, 11 – 27 odd and 35 – 45 odd
- Read sections 4.3 and 4.4.? Please look at all the examples.
- When multiplying decimals, you do not line up decimal points and you place decimal point at final answer by counting from the right.? Good examples on page 240.
- Problems on multiplying decimals:? Page 245 and 246 in 4.3:? 7 – 39 odd.
