Applicants under the age of 18
Don’t follow these steps if…
- If you have a diploma or GED?, follow the steps for new students.
- If you’re in a special program, like Dual Credit, follow the steps for your program: see programs for high school students.
- If you’re looking for non-credit classes for ages 12-17, see the Summer Teen Program.
If you are under 18 and will not have a high school diploma or GED? when starting classes at PCC, there are some extra steps you need to take before you can register for classes.
Things to know before applying:
- College is an adult learning environment and may not be appropriate for younger students.
- Classes go on your permanent transcript. Taking college classes before you’re ready can lower your GPA and impact eligibility for financial aid and transfer options.
- Students are protected by FERPA, which prevents anyone from accessing your records without your permission. This applies to all college students, regardless of age. To grant permission to a parent or guardian, submit the consent to release in MyPCC. For questions about privacy, contact the PCC registrar.
