Annual Security Report 2024
The Annual Security Report 2024 (ASR) includes crime statistics for the previous three years (2021, 2022 and 2023) for reported crimes that occurred at Portland Community Colleges (PCC) locations. The ASR 2024 also includes policy information related to campus security, crime prevention, sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking prevention, as well as disciplinary procedures and other matters of importance related to security and safety on PCC campuses.
On September 30, 2024, Portland Community College’s Department of Public Safety posted the Annual Security Report 2024 on its website and provided a simultaneous Notice of the Availability of the ASR 2024 in an email to all current students and employees in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act. This Act, which is more commonly known today as the Clery Act, is a federal law that requires colleges and universities in the United States to provide policy disclosure statements and crime statistics for certain crimes reported on campus and other institutionally associated locations.
An important part of compliance with the Clery Act is compliance with the Campus SaVE Act.
This Act refers to the recent Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) amendments to the Clery Act. The Campus SaVE Act is an update to the Clery Act, expanding the scope of this legislation in terms of reporting, response, and prevention education requirements around rape, acquaintance rape, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Portland Community College complies with the provisions of the SaVE Act as well.
