The West Coast Model European Union is an annual simulation of a European Council summit, bringing together undergraduate students from across the United States and Canada. Students, in teams of two, play the roles of representatives of European Union Member State delegations. Participants negotiate two issues of concern for the country holding the Presidency.?This is an excellent opportunity for students to develop several skills including negotiating, public speaking, and diplomacy. Students are required to conduct in-depth research on the agenda items and their country’s positions and prepare a policy position paper and a draft resolution prior to the event. Only current undergraduate students are eligible to apply.

Interested students should email a letter of intent to Dr. Robert Asaadi (robert.asaadi@pcc.edu), West Coast Model European Union faculty advisor.

Letters of Intent should include:

• Your PCC ID number (G number)
• Why you are interested in the Model EU
• What skills or experiences you have that would make you a successful participant
• What you hope to learn from the experience
