Elena Villa at el Teatro Romano, Málaga, Espa?a.

Welcome to my homepage! My name is Elena Villa (eh-leh-nah vee-ah). I’ve been teaching at PCC since 2017 and working in higher education since 1997. The other institutions I have taught for include UC Santa Cruz, UO, and WSU Vancouver. I have an MA in Literature and a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature with a specialization in Performance Studies, Women’s and Gender Studies, French Literature, and Colonial/Postcolonial literature. I’m also a professional dancer and I wrote my Master’s thesis and Ph.D. dissertation on representations of dance and dancers in literature and film.

It has been my great joy to work with students and faculty from around the world. I love the arts, humanities, and languages and I relish the opportunity to learn about other cultures, whether through work, travel, or artistic collaboration. My goal is to create a classroom environment in which diverse voices and experiences are welcomed and valued. I believe that learning never ends and I look forward to learning along with my students.
