Welcome to my homepage!
I am a yoga teacher, artist, and astrologer living in Portland, OR. I grew up in Media, Pennsylvania and studied classical languages and literature at UMass, Amherst, before leaving to study painting in the traditional atelier program at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, PA, where I received a 4-year certificate. After completing a BFA in Painting and Art History at the University of Pennsylvania, I showed in Philadelphia area galleries and worked as a museum educator and painting teacher at the Woodmere Art Museum. Eventually I moved to New York and received an MFA in painting at the New York Academy of Art with a concentration in anatomy. I New York I worked as an artist’s assistant, as a TA at the New School, and gave critiques as a visiting artist at Parson’s. During this time a I began psychoanalysis and became interested in the esoteric arts, as well as yoga practice and philosophy.
After returning to live in Philadelphia, I began yoga studies at Raja Yoga and Meditation Center, eventually becoming certified to teach hatha yoga and meditation. I continued with studies in yoga and ayurveda at the Himalayan Institute in Honesdale, PA, and while expanding my yoga teaching in Philadelphia I studied for and received a 300-hour certification in ayurveda for yoga teachers from Archarya Premanand and Shiva Das at Yoga on Main, as well as a 50-hour certification in yin yoga from Corina Benner at Wake Up Yoga.
In 2018 I made my dream a reality and moved to Portland, OR, where I continue to study and teach art, yoga, and offer ayurvedic and astrological consultations. I’m excited to be teaching anatomy in the 300-hour Advanced Yoga Teacher training? at PCC, where I bring together the science of yoga and art!
